MARIJUANA PARTY CANDIDATE SQUEAKS IN UNDER DEADLINE
The last-minute entry of a B.C. Marijuana party candidate before
Wednesday's nomination deadline means a five-way race in the
Kamloops-North Thompson electoral district.
Keenan Todd filed papers before the Wednesday afternoon deadline to
become a candidate for the riding. He will join Liberal Kevin Krueger,
New Democrat Mike Hanson, Green candidate Grant Fraser, and B.C. Conservative Bob Altenhofen on the ballot.
The race in Kamloops remains unchanged with New Democrat Doug Brown,
Liberal Claude Richmond, Green candidate Frank Stewart and B.C. Conservative Terry Bojarski.
The B.C. Marijuana party ran candidates in both ridings in 2001. The
party's candidate in Kamloops-North Thompson was fourth, edging out
Altenhofen, at that time a B.C. Unity party candidate.
