LAWYERS PROTEST AGAINST AFP QUESTIONING OF BALI ACCUSED
Lawyers for two Australian men arrested in Bali for drug smuggling,
have complained about the involvement of Australian Federal Police
( AFP ) in the investigation.
Sydney men Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran have been labelled
organisers in the drug smuggling operation and were arrested along
with seven other Australians in thought to be involved in a
heroin-smuggling ring.
Today, Chan and Sukumaran were questioned by police for four hours
about their involvement.
Their lawyers protested when AFP officers tried to ask them
questions.
The lawyers said in Indonesia only local police are allowed to be part
of an investigation.
